    The technical presentations of the first day are not restricted to ESAComp, but give also insight to use of other software tools, such as CATIA V5 and LS-DYNA. The program includes also a comprehensive lab tour of DLR Braunschweig. The second day program focuses on the new ESAComp release, version 4.0.   • DLR-ComponeeringGerman Aerospace Center DLR and Componeering Start Collaboration
    March 15, 2006
    DLR Institute of Composite Structures and Adaptive Systems (Braunschweig, Germany) and Componeering have signed an agreement for composites software related collaboration.

    Componeering sees that the vast experience of DLR in the composites technology is a great asset in further enhancing the ESAComp software. The types of collaboration may include, for instance, the implementation of DLR developed analysis and design approaches in ESAComp and utilization of the extensive experimental data gathered by DLR.

    DLR sees benefit in using ESAComp as its standard composite analysis tool and a development platform for new simulation and design approaches. The collaboration with Componeering can bring the new developments faster to the practicing engineers as integrated and verified software solutions. See Press Release.

    February 7, 2006 The University of Applied Sciences of Northwestern Switzerland was founded in the beginning of 2006 as a merger of three former Universities. Prof. Clemens Dransfeld, the head of Institute of Polymer Engineering, which was formerly known as zka [applied design technology], is happy to continue the collaboration with Componeering and CADFEM AG Switzerland regarding the support of ESAComp software.

    The Institute of Polymer Engineering has its main activities in the field of Material Science and Engineering. The interdisciplinary team focuses on research and services in the field of plastics and composites covering Design, Engineering, Process Technology and Polymer Chemistry.

  • ESAComp Distribution Network Expands in Europe and North America
    March 29, 2005 Componeering Inc. has recently signed new distribution agreements to expand its sales and support partner network for ESAComp software. New European distributors include EnginSoft S.p.A. for Italy and IDAC Ltd for the United Kingdom and Ireland. Convergent Mechanical Solutions has become a representative for the United States and Canada. (Press release)

  • ZKAZKA replaces DYNE as ESAComp support partner for Germany, Austria and Switzerland
    Effective January 1, 2005, Clemens Dransfeld, formerly managing partner of dyne design engineering has been nominated Professor and Head of R&D of the Advanced Plastics Engineering Center ZKA (www.zka.ch), which is part of the University of Applied Sciences Aargau FHA, Switzerland. Dransfeld is joined by his former engineering staff from dyne. The ESAComp related activities, in particular support and training services, have been transferred from dyne to ZKA. Componeering welcomes the new arrangement that provides continuation in the well-established partnership. At the same time, the strong composites research oriented environment of ZKA will provide new opportunities for collaboration.

  • ESAComp 3.0 released
    January 31, 2004. Componeering has released the 3.0 version of ESAComp featuring a revised graphical user interface. New capabilities include also
    • Transverse shear stress analysis of solid and sandwich laminates: shear stress distributions, interlaminar shear (ILS) failure, core shear failure, ply failure with 3D failure criteria.
    • Stiffened plate analysis: possibility to define I, T, C, and Z stiffeners.
    • Plate analysis enhancements: unsymmetric and unbalanced laminate lay-ups are now allowed.
    • 3D contour plots in plate analyses.
    • Interface for MSC.Patran Laminate Modeler (add-on module).


  • MSC.Software Composites Seminar in Paris, March 29, 2004
    January 15, 2004. MSC.Software arranges a seminar "Black Metal or Black Art? Europe 2004" at Paris Expo on March 29, 2004 (just before JEC Composites Show). At the seminar, Componeering presents its composites design solutions that integrate with MSC.Software products. In particular, the new interface between ESAComp and MSC.Patran Laminate Modeler is displayed. See invitation.

  • ESAComp Advanced Seminar in Switzerland
    October 13, 2003. CAD-FEM AG is arranging an ESAComp Advanced Seminar (Update 3.0), in Aadorf, Switzerland, on November 25-26, 2003 (see invitation). The presentations are given by Componeering Inc. and dyne design engineering gmbh.

  • CAD-FEM composites seminar with introduction to ESAComp
    April 23, 2003. CAD-FEM AG announces a set of composites seminars ("Berechnung von Kompositstrukturen - Grundlagen und Praxis") with an introduction to the use of ESAComp. The seminars are held in Aadorf (CH) on April 25 and in Burgdorf by Hannover (DE) on May 27 and June 24. See the invitation for details.

  • CAD-FEM composites seminar with introduction to ESAComp
    October 15, 2002. CAD-FEM arranges a one-day composites seminar ("Berechnung von Kompositstrukturen - Grundlagen und Praxis") with an introduction to the use of ESAComp. The event takes place in Grafing (Munich), Hannover and Aadorf (Switzerland) on November 5, 6 and 8, respectively. See the invitation for details.

  • CADFEM CAD-FEM appointed ESAComp distributor for Germany, Austria and Switzerland
    Sept. 20, 2002. Componeering Inc. has signed an agreement with CAD-FEM AG, Switzerland, for the distribution and support services of ESAComp software. With this agreement CAD-FEM becomes the distributor of ESAComp in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. CAD-FEM AG is in close link with CAD-FEM GmbH in Germany, thus making ESAComp part of the solution portfolio provided by CAD-FEM. ESAComp support services will be provided by CAD-FEM in collaboration with DYNE Design Engineering GmbH.

    February 12, 2002. Componeering has become an associate member of the Technology Network Alliance AG. "TechNet Alliance" is a global corporation representing a worldwide network of engineering solution providers dedicated to the application, development, marketing, and support of computer-aided engineering (CAE) technology.

  • Componeering has moved to new location

  • ESAComp at ICCM-13
    May 18, 2001. Componeering will demonstrate ESAComp at the 13th International Conference on Composite Materials in Beijing, June 25-29, 2001.

  • ESAComp 2.0 released
    May 9, 2001. ESAComp 2.0 version has been released and the upgrade deliveries to users have started.

  • JEC ESAComp at JEC Composites Show 2001

    Sept. 8, 2000. The ESAComp web pages earlier hosted at www.esacomp.hut.fi are now available in completely revised form at www.componeering.com. More in-depth information on ESAComp will be added continuously.

  • Transfer of ESAComp project to Componeering
    July 2000. The development, distribution, and support services of ESAComp have been transferred from Helsinki University of Technology, Laboratory of Lightweight Structures to Componeering Inc.
